AGENT: A person who poltergeist activity surrounds and is focused upon.
AMBIENT NOISE: Atmospheric sound transmissions or noise polution. (Sound pressure level at a given location.
APPARITION: A disembodied spirit that is visible to the naked eye.
APPORT: An object that has the abilitiy to in the presence of a medium, materialize and/or appear.
ASPORT: An object that has the ability to in the presence of a spirit, dematerialize and/or disappear.
ASTRAL BODY: A type of form/body/medium a person occupies during an out-of-body experience.
ASTRAL PLANE: An existence that higher than and/or separate from the physical world. (According to religious and philosophical teachings.)
ASTRAL PROJECTION: A voluntary, intentional state where the spirit is projected outward or outside of the body.
ASTROLOGY: The practice and art of the knowledge of positions, aspects, and alignments of celestial bodies to influence, predict natural occurrences and human progression/regression.
ATTACHMENT OBJECT: An object a person has a personal belonging and/or strong connection to.
AURA: An emanation of energy, light, and/or spirit which surrounds a person or thing's form. (Thought to show/reflect a person's emotions and/or personality.)
AUTOMATIC WRITING: A mechanical and unconscious method used by mediums to transcribe information from a spiritual source.
AUTOMATISM: An involuntary and/or unconscious movement of small and/or large muscular motor functions caused by a spirit.
AUTOSCOPY: The visual observing/hallucination of one looking upon their body from outside their body.
BALL LIGHTNING: A type of electrical discharge that is spherical in shape, reddish in color, which lasts several seconds to several minutes. (Possibly made by ionized molecules and/or particles.)
BLACKBODY: Hypothetical body that absorbs without reflection all electromagnetic radiation incident on its surface.
CASE STUDY: The thorough examination/investigation of a subject.
CLAIRAUDIENCE: A form of auditory ESP in which vocalized impressions and/or sounds are received outside of normal perception.
CLAIRSENTIENCE: A medium between clairaudience and clairvoyance.
CLAIRVOYANCE: A form of visual ESP in which visual impressions and/or imagery are received outside of normal perception.
CHANNELING: A method and/or process a spirit directly communicates with a medium to process and relay information.
COLD SPOT: A place or area distinctively cooler than the surrounding area.(Some think/believe this an indication of a supernatural presence/process.Also may be in form of hotspots.)
DEJA VU: A conscious sensation to which a person believes they have had the same experience prior. (Thought seizure conditions/possibilities may cause this.)
DEMON: An inhuman entity or deity which has reference to evil.
DIRECT VOICE PHENOMENON: A direct auditory response from a spirit.
EARTHBOUND: A term referring to a spirit that has a situational condition which causes the spirit the inability to move towards the other side.
ECTOPLASM: A filmy, quasi-solid substance/membrane which supposedly issues from open cavities and sensitive regions of the bodies of mediums while in trance-like states, or a type of quasi like substance associated with manifestations.
ELECTRONIC VOICE PHENOMONA: A sound or voice that isn't heard by the naked ear, but was recorded/captured by electronic means.
EXORCISM: A form or ritual expulsion of a invasive or daemonic entity from a person or place.
FALSE AWAKENING: The conscious or unconscious sensation of a person believing they are awake when in fact they are asleep.
FLOATING ORB: A spherical image or manifestation which oddly appears in footage with film, photos or digital video. (Some believe it is an indicator of supernatural activity or spirit entities.)
GHOST: A soul or spirit of a deceased person or even an animal which reflects their living body although somewhat less substantial and/or even transparent.
HAUNTING: A manifestation of a spirit attached, drawn to, or involved to a specific person, place, or thing. (There are different classes of hauntings.)
HALLUCINATION: A sensory conflict which sights and/or sounds are experienced although they are not actually present.
HYPERSENSITIVE: Excessively sensitive or allergic to a substance to which persons do not normally react.
ILLUSION: A false impression or delusion of reality.
INCUBUS: A demonic presence in male form that is said to descend upon sleeping female persons and engage in sexual activity.
INFRARED SPECTRUM: The part of the invisible spectrum which is contiguous to the red end of the visible spectrum.
INHUMAN ENTITY: A demonic spirit or negative spirit which causes harm upon its surroundings and/or people. (Also thought to have never actually had a physical body.)
INTUITION: A natural perception or insight which gives a person a strong emotional, physical, and/or mental feeling and/or knowledge.
LEVITATION: The act of physically raising or moving an object whithout physical reason and/or the defiance of gravity.
LEY LINES: Points or paths that align and/or intersect, in which theoretically cause anomalies.
MATERIALIZATION: The process of which a spirit appears. (The process can be solid or gradual.)
MATRIXING: The natural and mechanical means the human mind collects and adds details to sensory inputs, (visual, auditory, olfactory, tactile) which is then processed into familiar and understandable patterns.
OUIJA BOARD: A device used to communicate with spirits.
PARANORMAL: Phenomena and occurrences that are removed from normal exposure whithin their enviroments.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: Moment to moment direct/inderect experience and sensory awareness of internal and external events.
PHANTOM SMELL: Scents which do not have a logical or physical matter producing them.
POLTERGIEST: A type of spirit that uses physical matter to manifest its presence. (Thought to be actually caused by a person who of which has psychologial distress.)
PRECOGNITION: An ability to predict an event or occurrence before it occurs.
SENSITIVE: Another term for a medium, psychic, or other related person who has the ability to sense enivormental or direct/indirect factors related to spirits.
SUBJECTIVE APPARITION: A conscious or unconscious hallucination of an appartion.
SUCCUBUS: A demonic presence in female form that is said to descend upon sleeping male persons and engage in sexual activity.
TELEKINESIS: Movement of objects that defy scientific or logical means.
TELEPATHY: An ability to imprint or communicate mentally without using sensory means.
THERMAL: Pertaining to causes of heat or temperature.
THERMAL CROSSOVER: Natural phenomena which normally coccurs twice daily when temperature conditions cause a loss of contrast.
TRIGGER OBJECT: An object a person/spirit relates to and possibly conducts interaction with.
VORTEX: A anomaly caught by electronic means which appears as a funnel-shaped mass.
WHITE BODY: Hypothetical body that absorbs no electromagnetic radiation of any wavelength.
WHITE NOISE: A signal or process with a flat power spectal density, and contains eqal power within a fixed bandwidth at any center frequency.
